Road to Geneva 2010

Yesterday, Newington played host to yet an other epic polo all dayer.

12 London teams (including us) battled it out at the 'jail cage' in a round robin tourney format, with the resulting top 4 podium finishers winning entrance into the Euro's this July.

A lot, including pride, was at stake.

So under the warmth of the spring sun, much blood, sweat and some tears (think I saw Emmet cry at one point, but it was afterall his 19th birthday, so he was probably just overwhelmed with teenage emotion) were shed during the course of 121 awesome games of polo to decide which 4 teams would go to Geneva.

Some interesting results occured, but when the calculations were done, we ended up finishing in 3rd place, behind BAD and an unbeaten Malice, with Apples grabbing the all important 4th spot.

Here are the final standings

As much as it's great to be in the mix for the Euro's with BAD, Malice and Apples, it also sucks that there just aren't enough spots for all the other great London teams. But we'll do our best to bring the silverware back to London!

Cheers Gabes and all those who helped make yesterday work and of course be well fun!

Here are a few pics of the day taken by Todd.
